In 2017, PEFO partnered with a Netherland organization Gered Gereedschap to implement the“EQUIP” project. The project aims at enhancing craftsmanship and strengthening technical/vocational training in Eastern region. Its focus areas are Education, Employment, and Entrepreneurship (3Es) for youths through equipping of classrooms, provision of low-cost tool kits and equipment, scholarships, master-apprentice programs, entrepreneurial guidance, and microcredits, and establishment of rental and refurbishing workshops.

To date, the project has partnered with 14 technical and vocational institutions, training youths as trainers of trainees in tools refurbishment and workshop maintenance, and in shoe making. The project still makes partnership with existing workshops to provide rental and apprenticeship services to the youths and craftsmen in their communities.
